Howard Transit Fares

Effective July 1, 2003

  • Base Fare = $1.50
  • Reduced Fare (Senior/Disabled) = $0.50
  • Student Fare = $0.50
  • Children (Ages 5 and under) = Free
  • Transfers (only good for two hours) = Free
  • Monthly Pass (Full Fare) = $47.00 (Effective April 2, 2007)
  • Monthly Pass (Student/Discounted Fare) = $16.00 (Effective April 2, 2007)
  • 10-Ride Ticket (Full Fare) = $13.50
  • 10-Ride Ticket (Student/Discounted Fare) = $4.50

Connect-A-Ride Fares

Effective September 17, 2007

Please note that Howard Transit passes and transfers are not valid on Connect-A-Ride as full fare. Additional charges apply.

  • Base Fare = $2.00
  • Transfers (Good only for two hours) = Free
  • Reduced fare (Senior/Disabled) transfers (Good only for two hours) = Free
  • Reduced fare (Senior/Disabled) = $1.00
  • One Day Pass = $5.00
  • Children (Age 5 and under) = Free
  • Monthly Pass - Full Fare = $67.00
  • Monthly Pass - Reduced Fare = $33.00
  • 10-Ride Ticket - Full Fare = $18.00
  • 10-Ride Ticket - Reduced Fare = $9.00
  • RYDE Curb-to-Curb Service = $4.00

Paratransit Service

Effective July 1, 2005

  • HT Ride Full Fare = $2.50
  • HT Ride Reduced Fare = $1.25
  • HT Ride 10-Ride Ticket Full Fare = $25.00
  • HT Ride 10-Ride Ticket Reduced Fare = $12.50
  • RYDE (Connect-A-Ride) Full Fare = $4.00

Important Fare Information

The Maryland Transit Administration bus system DOES NOT accept transfers from Howard Transit and/or Connect-A-Ride.

MTA only accepts the Regional day pass on the following conditions:

  • From Howard Transit Silver to MTA bus/light rail, transferring at: BWI Business Park and BWI Terminal Light Rail stations.
  • From Howard Transit Yellow Route to MTA 150 Route, transferring at Long Gate Park & Ride
  • From Connect-A-Ride J & K routes to MTA Route 17, transferring at Arundel Mills.
  • From Connect-A-Ride J Route to MTA Route 14 or Light Rail, transferring at Cromwell Light Rail Station.
  • When transfering to Connect-A-Ride with MTA-issued day pass or monthly pass (MARC, Light Rail and/or Bus): You pay $0.50

Howard Transit and Connect-A-Ride drivers do accept all MTA fare mediums
